![]() So I present to you todays project: Iron Man Mark 1 Helmet This got me thinking more about what it means to have many tools available, in particular having access to 757 Makerspace allows me to take advantage of tools that I might not regularly have access to, so I decided to try something new as part of my month long dive into quick making projects. With 3d printer and CNC machines we have been exposed to a wide variety of computer enabled tooling, even modeling and designing is using computers but the idea of using Pepakura came back up this week after realizing that I could take the same design concept and apply this to metal with a waterjet to cut and then weld together. This is a piece of software that lets you take a 3d model and unwrap it (fold it flat) so that you can print out a template on paper or cardstock and tape together to make your design in a tangible form. A few years ago I ran across the term Pepakura.
